Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of psychotherapy that views the mind as made up of multiple sub-personalities, or "families", that can conflict with each other. These sub-personalities can include wounded parts, painful emotions, and parts that try to protect the person from pain. IFS therapy helps clients understand how these sub-personalities may be driving certain behaviors and problematic habits. The goal of IFS therapy is to achieve balance and harmony within the internal system, and to elevate the "Self" so it can be an effective leader.
Below are resources to help with understanding IFS.
